Cuba based rap duo, Zona Franka, blends traditional rhythms with the grit and swagger of hip-hop and rap vocal phrasings. Their clever shout choruses create instant tropical dance classics using their unique self-titled "changui con flow" style.

SpanishEnglishClave Changes Track by Track - Te voy a liquidar-Pregón de chocolate

3) Felicidad — (ballad - no clave)

4) Te la voy a Liquidar — Although you’d never guess it by studying this album, if one were to take all of the Timba arrangements by all of the major groups, the most common clave pattern would be, simply, 2:3 all the way through, and that’s what happens here. There are many great bloques and plenty of "gear-shifting" but the clave stays put. As usual, it starts in 1st gear with the timbalero playing clave on the jamblock. The bongocero takes his time switching to campana, finally coming in with the standard pattern at 1:27. He switches many times between the 2nd and 3rd gear patterns and adds a few creative figures behind the mambos. The piano piano tumbaos throughout are not that far removed from the traditional pattern, especially on the three side. Note that the false ending that starts at 6:14 doesn’t alter the clave at all — you can clap clave straight through and when the jamblock returns on the 2 side, it’s right where you’d expect it be.

5) Pregón del Chocolate — This one stays in 3:2 all the way through. It’s a blazing fast arrangement with all sorts of exciting bloques. Perhaps the most remarkable comes at 4:20 which leads to a false ending with a major slowdown in tempo, but the band suddenly surges back to full speed at 4:24…amazing.
