ENGLISH:   Kiki Valera launched his new CD Vivencias en clave cubana (you can read Tom Ehrlich's review here)  with several events on radio and in concerts last weekend.  You can see a photo gallery of the concerts and studio session an KNKX here.  
Kiki has been doing radio interviews for several stations, and Bill Tilford interviewed him in his home for his program From the Isle of Music. That interview will air the week of November 10-16. 
ESPAÑOL:   Kiki Valera lanzó su nuevo CD Vivencias en clave cubana (puede leer una reseña en inglés por Tom Ehrlich aquí)  en la radio y en conciertos el fin de semana pasada.  Puede ver una galería de fotos de los conciertos y la sesión en KNKX aquí. 
Kiki esta grabando muchas entrevistas radiales para diversas estaciones, y Bill Tilford entrevistó a él en su hogar para su proprio programa From the Isle of Music.  Esta entrevista saldra al aire la semana del 10 al 16 de Noviembre.

ENGLISH:  Today, EGREM released the latest album by Hermanos Arango (also known as Los Hermanos Arango), Bendita Guanabacoa, to the digital stores. There are so  many recordings by so many artists with titles like "Without Limits", "Beyond the Limits"  etc etc. without actually delivering on the promise of their titles (those recordings are usually well-done but nevertheless stay within certain prescribed boundaries) that readers and listeners have understandably become skeptical about those superlatives when applied to new albums.  That creates a challenge for those of us who write about music when a recording comes along that actually does push beyond conventional boundaries without sounding contrived, as is the case with this album, which is the real thing.  But don't take our word for it, check out the audio track and then read all about the new recording HERE.   

ESPAÑOL: Hoy, EGREM lanzó el nuevo álbum de Hermanos Arango (también conocido como Los Hermanos Arango), Bendita Guanabacoa,  a las tiendas digitales. Hay tantas grabaciones de tantos artistas con títulos como "Sin límites", "Más allá" etc., etc., sin cumplir realmente la promesa de sus títulos (esas grabaciones generalmente son bien hechas, sin embargo, se quedan dentro de ciertos límites prescritos) que es comprensible que  muchos lectores y oyentes se hayan vuelto escépticos acerca de esos superlativos cuando se aplican a nuevos álbumes. Eso crea un desafío para aquellos de nosotros que escribimos sobre música cuando aparece una grabación que realmente supera los límites convencionales sin sonar artificial, como es el caso de este álbum, que es la cosa genuina,  Pero no es necesario creer nuestras palabras, que escuche este track y entonces lea todos los detalles AQUI.
