Issac, Freddy Cole (brother of Nat King Cole) and an all-star band featuring the great Reinier Guerra on drums, will be holding court at Yoshi's Oakland Friday, Saturday and Sunday promoting their new album L-O-V-E.
And after the Saturday show, you can get your timba dancing fix right around the corner at Club Antón, Team Bahía is the brainchild of DJ Walt Digz and features an all-star band of the Bay Area's top timberos playing an exciting collection of classic timba charts.

Adalberto's US Tour Dates
Things are solidifying around the US tour of Adalberto Álvarez y Su Son which begins next week! We have published a number of concert dates and will update with more as soon as they are confirmed.
If you've never seen Adalberto live you are in for a treat. The music is perfectly suited to the dancer and the band sounds as good live as on CD. Plus you get the excitement of the interaction with the bandmembers. You will be surprised just how hardcore well-played son can be! On my last visit to Cuba I went to see Adalberto every week. This band keeps you coming back for more.
They have a new CD, "El Son de Altura", on the way...any minute now it should be released. As usual it is on my must-buy list. Here s a little sample from the CD, the hit "El Melón".

LA GOTA DE LA VIDA
La Música Otra Vez Se Une A Una Noble Causa
La música es parte elemental del ser humano, ya que desde su proceso evolutivo la ha practicado. Desde los albores de la humanidad data el inicio de esta faceta que tantas alegrías nos ofrece. Pero que siempre es asociada al lucro o simple distracción. Eso queda de lado cuando los músicos e integrantes del medio se unen para apoyar con su talento a nobles causas. La 1era muestra palmaria fue el proyecto We Are The World, mediante el cual se buscó paliar el hambre en Africa, un continente golpeado por situaciones climáticas y politicas. También se generó una cruzada luego del sismo en Haití.
Ahora llega La Gota De La Vida, un proyecto mediante el cual los músicos e integrantes del gremio, donan su talento para beneficiar los protectos de investigación y tratamiento en la Ciudad de la Esperanza (Cityof Hope). Un centro de educación, investigación y tratamiento del cáncer, la diabetes y otras enfermedades que amenazan la vida.

La Premicia del video y de la canción, se llevará a cabo el martes 7 de septiembre a las 7 PM en el Club Nokia del L.A. Live! ubicado en el Downtown de Los Ángeles. En este evento los artistas de la música más destacados de Estados Unidos, Latinoamérica y España asistirán y presentarán una versión "en vivo" de "La Gota de La Vida," bajo la dirección del exitoso pianista, compositor, arreglista y celebridad del mundo latino: Arthur Hanlon.
