Interview with Eblis Valdivía

1-TIMBA.COM How do you feel about being part of la Charanga Habanera?
- It is the greatest thing that has happened to me in 2003 and in 2004. An incredible experience that I always dreamed of, it's like the beginning of an achievement

2-TIMBA.COM How much influence has David Calzado had on your artistic career?
- A lot because in fact in the initial stage he has been the master guide and has taught me to know myself and my possibilities as an artist. I’m like a sponge; I listen and absorb everything he says. I’m learning a lot from him.

3-TIMBA.COM How did the idea to make a solo CD with your brother Kelly arise?
- The two of us have always had this idea, but the ones who brought it to life are some promoters who saw the possible union and they gave the push, and David is the producer.

4-TIMBA.COM How do you feel about this project?
- Ever since I knew that Kelly could sing this dream began and it’s like a bichito that I carry inside, and I feel very happy.

5-TIMBA.COM What genres will be included on the CD?
-Ballads, pop and regaetton. Maybe 1 salsa song to keep the Cuban roots, because I come from salsa. This CD will be very international and commercial, it will be al día. It will be a fusion of Cuban rhythms.

6-TIMBA.COM Do you think the CD will be accepted by the public because of the popularity of Eblis and Kelly or because of your talent?
- It helps, in fact I’ve bought CDs of artists that I already know although later I was disappointed. It’s the truth that this can have an affect. We are popular for our talent, not only for our appeal, but because we have known how to reach the audience. While they like it they draw their own conclusions.

7-TIMBA.COM Lately you have achieved great popularity with the song "El boni", does "El boni" have anything to do with Eblis? 
-El boni was born of Eblis because David wrote the song thinking about my physique, my manner, to contribute interesting things to the song. I consider myself simple and I have a ton of friends. It has a lot to do with me.

8-TIMBA.COM Aside from this project do you have any other plans? 
- I’m going to return to a project of a film where I will be the protagonist. The role doesn’t have anything to do with me nor with the field of music. I open up myself playing this role and this is what interests me the most, it will be for the beginning of 2005.

9-TIMBA.COM Do you visit the page and read the messages of your fans?
-I visit it often; whenever I enter the Internet I visit the page.

10-TIMBA.COM What could you say to the visitors to TIMBA.COM and to all your fans that write to us daily?
-That whenever they enter TIMBA.COM they make a good choice.
Above all to my fans that I have never enjoyed such good health as now. I’m in perfect condition, that nothing of what is being said about me is true (the gossip, accidents, assaults and other more serious problems) Thanks to all of my fans for worrying about my health.
