Controversial video of ex-Manolito singer Rosendo "El Gallo" Díaz surfaces

En este video controversial de 8 minutos, narrado por él mismo, Rosendo "El Gallo" Díaz, ex-cantante de Manolito y su Trabuco y la Orquesta Revé, describe la pérdida de su voz, todos los tratamientos infructuosos realizados por sacerdotes Yoriba / IFA, y su completa recuperación provocada por sus nuevas creencias religiosas.

El Gallo también se destaca en un nuevo lanzamiento de Proyecto Sonidos de Júbilo -una colectiva muscial de Timba y Son. En este nuevo álbum, Rosendo, junto al vocalista Andy Marcos de Monte de Sión, presentan interpretaciones vocales muy poderosas.  Dirigidos por el trompetista David Eduardo Ríos, Sonidos de Júbilo es un proyecto musical único que une a las fuerzas de la música sacra y música bailable contemporánea de Cuba (Timba). Sonidos de Júbilo incorpora himnos tradicionales de la iglesia con arreglos modernos de grandes orquestas tropicales. Junto con Rosendo y Andy, el álbum cuenta con una colaboración con músicos cubanos Alberto Salas (piano) y Yuri Pérez (saxofón). Elito told me that when they would record a new song El gallo would take the lyrics and go off on his own for 30 minutes then he'd come back and they'd do say 3 takes and he'd sing each one differently. then they'd use the best parts from each one,

what people think of El Gallo

yeah I think he's a very underestimated singer. I've found that people have listened to a bunch of classic Timba tracks without realizing it's him. Then when they find out it's like "oh that El Gallo !". This is to the point where when you hear some of the songs live, stuff that he's recorded with Manilto or Revé, and it's not his voice you fell that something isn't right. I'm curious to see what the reaction to this video will be as it came straight from him.

El gallo

Interesting to see what project he's been up to recently also interesting to hear his story directly from him. He has such a great voice and is one of my favorite singers.
