Tour Dates Announced
On June 11th I posted an interview with Calle Real where they mentioned that they had an upcoming tour of Japan in August. The dates and venues of the five-concert promotional tour have recently been released and I have updated the Calle Real tours page . Among other events the callejeros will be performing two days at the Isla de la Salsa festival in Fukuoka. Eliades Ochoa had already hatched the idea for the Afro-Cubism project when the Buena Vista Social Club phenomenon swept him onto the world stage in 1997. Now, 15 years later, his original vision has finally been realized: master musicians from Cuba playing son with master musicians from the African country of Mali playing traditional Malian music. Klímax Starts Peruvian Gigs Tonight!
Five Concerts in Lima
Giraldo Piloto & Klímax begin a 5-concert visit in Lima tonight with concerts at Son D'Cuba and Persepolis. The full schedule for the Lima gigs can be found on the Klímax Tours page. The band is as popular as ever with the new hit "La Pelirroja". If you haven't heard it yet do yourself a favor and check it out on Timba.com radio . It has the classic Klímax sound with hardcore vocals by Noel Díaz who is also the song's composer. It is one of the top éxitos of Summer 2011!
