This latest version of Buena Vista Social Club consists of older legendary musicians such as Omara Portuondo, Eliades Ochoa, Papi Oviedo, Guajiro Mirabal and Barbarito Torres, middle age master musicians and some younger master musicians most of whom played with some of the top timba bands.

These timberos are Rolando Luna who played piano with Issac Delgado and Paulito, Carlos Kalunga who sang with Klimax and Manolito y su Trabuco, Alberto La Noche who played with Cubanismo, Andres Cuayo who played timbales with Issac Delgado and Pedro Pablo who played with Charanga Habanera, Charanga Forever and was the leader of a few great recordings - Los Aces de la Timba and Pedro Pablo y Rebambaramba.
